We are partnering with another organization to launch a heating initiative. They are providing wood stoves and firewood to people who still live in houses that were damaged by the bombings. They are also providing materials for insulation that will be used to weatherproof and waterproof the damaged parts of the houses.
Our role will be to get into the front line areas and find the damaged houses that still have occupants in them. Once the vetting is done, we will deliver the stove, firewood, and insulation materials and will also install the stove and stove piping.
Our goal is to provide the Ukrainian people with the resources they need to help themselves. We want to find people in each of these communities who can identify and bring the heating needs to us and then install the stoves needed in their communities. We want to get it to the place where we vet the recipients, do delivery of the components, and provide supervision of the installation; but the people do the work in supporting their own communities.
This will be an 8-week project filled with long days of working in areas of active combat. It will also give us more one on one time with these people. We would appreciate prayers for wisdom, direction, and eternal impact as we move into this initiative.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
