Haiti Update 5/23

“We just want to live”
These are the words you hear from the Haitians: people who have learned to live in a country where insecurity reigns and basic needs are hard to meet.
In today’s prison service, Pastor Tony talked about how many people are trying to leave Haiti to find peace. When you ask them why they are leaving, they say that they just want peace. They simply want to live in peace. Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” That peace or rest that everyone is trying to find can only be found in Christ. After the sermon, one of the lady inmates asked to lead a song.
She starting singing: “Prayer changes everything, so come to the Lord in prayer.”
