Ukraine: The Joy of Reunion

Not every day over here is busy. Some days are slow, but those days can still be some of the best.

One of the best parts of what we do is helping bring families back together. We often evacuate people from the hot zones and get to watch them see their children, grandchildren, or other family members again. It means a lot to be a small part of those moments.

But it doesn’t always end that way. Sometimes we bring someone to safety, and their family doesn’t want them because they see them as a burden. Those are some of the hardest days.

Every evacuation has a different story. Some end with hugs and smiles. Others end with heartbreak. We’re thankful for every chance we have to help, no matter how the story ends.
