Ukraine: A Living Testimony

There is an older woman staying at our shelter who has been a testimony to me through her actions.
Despite having a physical disability that makes walking difficult and speaking challenging, she lives with determination and often has a smile on her face.

Several times, I have seen her faithfully reading her Bible while lying on her bed. One day, I sat beside her and asked about her faith. With a shaking hand, she slowly typed a response into Google Translate. She shared that she was baptized in 2000 but drifted away from God for a time. Then, just one month ago, she recommitted her life to Him.

I asked if she could show me some of her favorite Bible verses. She turned to a highlighted section in Mark 11:24–25, which talks about prayer and forgiveness.

Despite the challenges she has endured, she pushes on. How do we respond when life brings difficulties our way? Do we become angry and bitter, or do we look for reasons to trust God and remain hopeful?

Our lives are a living testimony. Are we building a legacy that honors God or one that honors ourselves? When people see us, do they see a reflection of Christ?

May we be reminded to shine the light of Christ wherever we go.
