Ukraine: A Close Call

Not every evac day looks the same. Every run has risks, but this day definitely reminded us how much God was watching over us.

We were heading into a pretty hot zone when we spotted a drone about 150 yards in front of us that had been sitting on the road waiting for us. As it started flying toward us, we bailed out of the vehicle. The drone hit the top of our roof but never exploded. No question in my mind that was a miracle.

After that, we decided not to continue in and turned around to head back out. On the way out, we hit a muddy stretch of road and ended up colliding with another vehicle that had been hit by a drone earlier that morning. Our vehicle was no longer drivable after the crash.

About five minutes later, some military guys came through and were able to tow us out of the hot zone.

Looking back on the whole day, there were several moments where God’s protection was very clear. Definitely thankful to still be here and thankful for everyone who continues praying for us while we do these evacuations.
