I helped an old woman into our van and loaded the few bags she had with her into the back. Tears were brought to my eyes with the realization that they contain all she now owns. It is difficult to comprehend what she must feel to leave everything she’s ever known. She hugged me tightly and thanked me.
Even as we help these evacuees carry their belongings, I hope we can show them that God can carry the heaviest burdens on their hearts.
Pray that as they hear the Gospel, the words would reach them and in this dark time, they would know they never have to carry their burdens alone. I’m thankful for every opportunity we have to show God’s love to the broken-hearted, and give a little Hope to people who have lost so much.
