News From Base 2

An update from one of our volunteers…

Hey y’all! Hope this finds you well! For about 4 weeks now, I’ve been working to start up a new forward base. Our rear base is pretty far from where the needs actually are. Our forward base is approximately two hours from where the heavy fighting is. That is where the greatest needs are, and there are not many people willing to go into these areas.

Our focus there is distributing food and aid supplies. We have several warehouses and are bringing in truck loads of food and supplies. We then break it down and distribute it through partner churches, local shelters, and different organizations who are feeding those who have had to leave their homes.

Every day I am in and out of meetings with different partner organizations, local government officials, and many different shelters. We assess their needs and supply them with food as we can. We have not been doing many evacuations lately, as it seems the fighting is consolidated to a specific area and the people who wanted to leave have already left. At this point, it seems the war will be a long drawn out, very bloody conflict with no end in sight.

I ask that you would continue to pray for both Ukraine and Russia. Pray that hearts of stone would be opened and that this conflict would end. It’s the innocent who suffer most.
