Myanmar: Water Filtration Systems

Within 48 hours of getting into the areas affected by the earthquake, one need stood out. This was the basic need for a reliable supply of clean drinking water. Most of the villages on the lake were resorting to shipping in water due to boreholes being contaminated by the flooding and the earthquake.

Partnering with the local volunteer network, we were able to quickly pinpoint the most critical locations. Over the following weeks, we started building the containment structures in a total of 8 villages, making sure they could withstand any similar natural disasters. The reverse osmosis filtration systems have been mostly installed, with the last ones becoming operational this week.

These systems, together with some solar banks we installed, will be providing over 7,620 people with safe drinking water!
The cost for these projects comes out to $45 per 10 people. Consider partnering with us as we provide that “cup of water” as mentioned in Mark 9.
