Our team deployed to the Midwest with the initial objective of assisting with tornado cleanup efforts in Enid, Oklahoma. Upon arrival, we assessed the situation and adjusted our response based on real-time conditions and needs on the ground.
Enid, Oklahoma:
Our original plan was to support cleanup operations in Enid following recent tornado activity. However, upon arrival, we found that most immediate cleanup had already been completed. The remaining work was pending insurance processing, which prevented further progress at that time. Additionally, many property owners had already secured contracted crews scheduled to begin work once insurance approvals were finalized. As a result, there was limited opportunity for our team to provide meaningful assistance in that location.
Sycamore, Kansas:
Given our availability and proximity to other impacted areas, we redeployed to Sycamore, Kansas. There, we spent a full day assisting a local property owner with storm cleanup, primarily focusing on cutting and clearing downed trees. While additional work remained in the area, we prioritized immediate needs we could address within our available timeframe.
Trenton & Germantown, Illinois:
While monitoring storm activity, we received reports of a tornado impacting areas near Trenton and Germantown, Illinois—locations that aligned with our return route to Pennsylvania. We conducted an on-site assessment but found minimal damage, with no significant need for large-scale cleanup assistance at that time.
After completing our assessments and providing targeted assistance where possible, we concluded our Midwest deployment and returned to Pennsylvania. While the overall need for extended operations was limited due to timing, insurance delays, and prior engagement of local crews, the mission allowed us to stay responsive, evaluate multiple impacted areas, and provide support where it was most immediately needed.
We remain actively monitoring severe weather patterns and stand ready to deploy rapidly to areas with significant unmet needs. Our goal continues to be reaching communities in the critical early stages of disaster recovery where our efforts can make the greatest impact.
