Ken Schlabach

It’s hard to grasp the loss of Ken Schlabach and to accept that he is no longer with us. We had the privilege of working side by side with Ken, operating out of his business office in Spruce Pine during the first six weeks after Hurricane Helene struck North Carolina. Ken was our main point of contact, connecting us to his local community and providing invaluable support.

His unwavering dedication to helping those affected by the hurricane was truly inspiring. Ken played a pivotal role in making our response efforts in Spruce Pine so successful. For that, we are deeply grateful. Even after we concluded our efforts in Spruce Pine, we continued a support role with Empowering Hands, where Ken was one of the organization’s key leaders.

Ken, you will be greatly missed. It has been an honor to know you, and your impact on us and the community will not be forgotten.

Please join us in praying for his family during this difficult time.

If you feel led to support them financially, a GoFundMe has been set up to assist them.
