From a volunteer

Hearing the familiar cries of “Teacher, teacher!” and spending time with these precious children has been the highlight of year. It has been so rewarding to bring some stability and love to their lives. God has been with us each and every day.

One day, after teaching at the school, we came back to our home getting ready to flood! We sandbagged the doors, removed our belongings from the first floor and quickly had several inches of water in our house.

As it was getting dark that night, our team gathered in a circle, standing barefoot with water flowing through our house and asked God to be with us and protect us and our neighbors. The next morning, we were all thankful that the water went back down and cleaned the house.

This year has had unusually crazy flooding, and we spent some of our time to help a few towns that got flooded by bringing in food, and help with flood cleanup. It was a real blessing to work alongside fellow believers to show God’s love to the local communities. Thanks to all for your prayers and support!
