This week, I was helping the WARM Project, which consisted of delivering wood stoves and firewood into front-line villages. Many of our recipients don’t have access to firewood. This week, our delivery was to a village that had a lot of military activity, with outgoing and incoming rounds of missiles. Multiple rounds hit within 100-300 yards, with a few that got a bit closer.
It was fascinating to see how relaxed the locals were while these explosives were getting sent in their direction! At one point, we had one missile hit very close, and one of the locals calmly commented that it would likely be followed by two more. I don’t recall those two expected rounds ever landing close by while we where there.
By God’s grace, our team was protected and the work we’re doing helps to keep these older folks from freezing since most (if not all) of them have no other source of heat.
