Thailand Update 6/29

I recently traveled to Thailand to evaluate the project, see first-hand what is happening and the impact that we’re making there. I myself was definitely impacted by going!
When I arrived at the home, Miss Luann, who oversees the home immediately started talking and expressed over and over how grateful she is that we were willing to come and serve alongside her mission.
She is a 67 years old and she said that her life and her family are the 500+ children at the home. Tears were streaming down her face as she expressed that her biggest concern in life is finding someone who will take care of the children when she passes on, because she recognizes she is getting older.
Approximately 150 of the children come from the neighboring country of Burma. The others are Thai children that are either orphans and/or children that come from high poverty level homes and the parents can’t or don’t know how to take care of them.
It is an absolute joy to see the joy light up the children’s faces as we went through the home. As soon as they saw us, they came running up to greet us. Their hearts are very open and receptive!
The home is considered a private boarding school, which means that there is school work that happens throughout the day and the children also stay on campus, which is considered the children’s home section of the mission.
This project has had its share of challenges for our team, as we navigate through a lot of obstacles that come up with that amount of children in a home that desperately needed more help. Pray for wisdom and strategies as we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus in these precious children’s lives!
