School Days in Thailand

Every day I prepare for and teach an English class to twenty nine students. The comprehension levels vary from needing help answering “how are you” (even though we discuss it every day in class) to holding simple conversations. In a year from now they will probably have forgotten most of what I’ve taught them, but I hope to never forget the things I’ve learned spending every day with them. I don’t ever want to forget their generosity when they share their snack with a friend; the big, all in hugs they give; their resilience; their eager smiles; their eyes closed, hands lifted, worship; and their contagious laughter.
