Jamaica Rebuild

Well today marks 200 days since Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as the island’s strongest hurricane on record! The effects of that continue to this day with many of the 24,000 destroyed homes and 120,000 damaged roofs still waiting for repair. As the rainy season approaches, the need becomes even more urgent for secure roofs for those without adequate shelter.
After a successful emergency response last year, PCCR is teaming up with Jamaica Relief Ministries once again to help fill that gap. A small team has arrived on the ground and will be rebuilding homes and repairing roofs that JRM has identified as priority needs. With most of the building materials kindly supplied by them, we’ll be fundraising to provide the logistics around bringing in teams needed to complete the rebuilding.
Thank you for standing with us and the people of Jamaica, as we continue what we started in the initial response last year.
