I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have served in Ukraine for the past eight months. My heart struggles with leaving and not knowing what the future will look like for the Ukrainian people. In the short time I lived here I saw how quickly things can change. Places where we used to do evacuations are now off limits. Locations that we deemed safe months prior, are now the front lines and very dangerous. We started out with just a white van and a lot of prayer, and a few weeks later we were blessed with an armored van, plus a REB System to keep the drones away. (We still pray though 😁)
People we had the privilege of evacuating to our shelter, quickly became our friends, and eventually were moved on to safer places. There were so many kisses of gratitude from babushkas, so many embarrassing moments where big expressions were used to communicate a simple sentence, and so many “only God” moments to remind you of his presence. There are definitely situations that left me wishing I could have done more, and there is still so much more help needed in Ukraine. Please join me in praying that there would be peace here in this country, and pray for the many families that are struggling to find housing and jobs. Pray that they would encounter Jesus and receive salvation.
I know that God has a beautiful plan for Ukraine even with all the heartache this war has caused. I love this country, and the brave, resilient people that live here. God Bless Ukraine, and God Bless those of you who have supported the work here. Thank You.
