My sister and I went through the hardest time of our lives after the earthquake destroyed our home. We are both old and have health problems, so there was no way for us to rebuild our house by ourselves. The earthquake damaged everything. The middle part of our wooden house rose up and became unbalanced, and the legs of the house were so weak they could hardly hold it anymore. We were so afraid it might fall on us at any moment. All our important belongings and even things that had been passed down from our parents were not safe to keep inside anymore. We were living in fear, with nowhere safe to go, until PCCR heard about our situation. They didn’t just offer money or materials. They came to our village and talked with the local people to see what we needed most. They saw for themselves how bad our house had become and. PCCR gave us the materials to rebuild the house like wood, nails, everything we needed and they even worked side by side with the local people to help fix it. They didn’t just give us help from far away. They were here, working together with the villagers and with us. Thanks to PCCR and the kindness of everyone who helped, our house is strong and safe now. My sister and I feel so grateful because we know we could not have done this alone. Our new home means everything to us and it’s a place where we can live without fear and have peace again. I will never forget what they did for us.
