Ethiopia, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, is a landlocked country in the Horn of Africa. It shares borders with Eritrea and Djibouti to the north, Somaliland to the northeast, Somalia to the east, Kenya to the south, South Sudan to the west and Sudan to the northwest. Ethiopia has a total area of 420,000 sq mi and over 117 million inhabitants and is the 12th-most populous country in the world and the 2nd-most populous in Africa. The national capital and largest city is Addis Ababa.

Currently, Ethiopia is experiencing civil war that started about 12 months ago. The Tigrayan forces are fighting the government and gaining ground. In the process, millions of people are displaced, women get mass-raped and tens of thousands of people are starving. It is the biggest hunger crisis of the last 10 years world-wide.

We are currently in contact with an Ethiopian Mennonite church in Ethiopia that is working to relief the immediate needs and is asking us to partner with them.
